What kind of places do you choose to be in Travellers Deck?
We seek out places that represent the best of their kind. The ones that get what great shopping, eating and drinking are all about. Our evaluation process was in-depth and thorough. We spoke to each owner, chefs, foodies and shopaholics. We sent our friends and staff of fashionable foodies for lunches and shopping excursions to ensure we were providing you with a rich and layered evaluation of these hidden gems that we loved enough to share with you. Our grunt work allows you to arrive at your destination and relax knowing if it’s not in Travellers Deck, you’re not missing much!
Do venues pay to go in the guide?
Not a chance. We weren’t even tempted! All of our fabulous restaurants and stores had to prove to us unequivocally that they deserved to be in the Best 100 category. After all, our reputations are on the line!
Are all of your venues super expensive?
People often think that to be "The Best" means it has to be expensive. No way! It can be 10 dollars or a hundred dollars. What’s important is that it is the best of the best; the best guacamole and chips, the best vintage boutique for that perfect clutch, the best spaghetti al a vongole…you catch our drift?
How often do you update your decks?
We update our decks every two years. Our inaugural edition is valid until December 31, 2011. We are constantly updating important information that you can check out online under Deck Updates.
I went to a place in your latest deck and it was no longer there. What’s with that?
We feel your pain. Unfortunately in the world of food and fashion, there is a high turnover. Be sure to check out our Deck Updates section on our website regularly so we can keep you in the know.
What kind of exclusive discounts can I expect?
In a word...AWESOME! Over $750 worth of savings in each deck awaits you and with the 12% HST now in effect every cent matters! We’ve negotiated..... to get you free appetizers, 10 – 50% off and even a free hug. Imagine saving $40.00 off a $400 pair of shoes at John Fluevog!
How many times can I use each card?
The cards are a one-time use. Just show it or give it to your server at any time during your meal and once your server has tallied the bill, they will initial the card and return it to you so you can keep it as a souvenir. Remember to have them return it because our cards are double-sided.
Are there any blackout days for the cards?
No, not at all! The cards are valid 365 days of the year and are valid until December 31, 2011!
Why haven’t you numbered the cards?
We didn’t want to number cards for fear that people would interpret this as a ranking system. All of our restaurants and stores rock!
If I have a suggestion for a restaurant or store that I think should be in your next deck, what should I do?
We’d love to hear from you. Send us an email at info@travellersdeck.com or go to our website and give us a brief description of what makes this place so great and we’ll check it out.
