Stores like Moulé are extremely dangerous to shoppers because they carry absolutely everything.  Moulé is overflowing with trinkets and treasures from around the world.  I always feel like I’m walking through a Middle Eastern marketplace or a European art gallery when I’m there.  Each location is stacked with stunning clothing, jewellery, shoes, unique house wares and ambrosial bits and bobs.

I don’t just love shopping at Moulé; I also love saying the name!  I usually head there when I’m looking for a special gift for someone close.  It’s actually a perfect place to go when looking for a housewarming gift.  The items they carry are so unique and fun, that you’ll be sure to stand out.  There’s nothing worse than being a boring or predictable gift giver!  Well, actually there are about a zillion things worse than that, but whatever it’s my blog I can write what I want.

The New York Times put it best when saying Moulé “specializes in everything and nothing”.  If you want to tart up your home with some fabulous finds, then Moulé is the place to go.  For more info on Moulé or to find the location nearest you visit www.moulestores.com.

Alberni Street is becoming a bustling shopping district. With stores like Betsey Johnson, M0851, Agent Provocateur, Tiffany & Co. and Hermes it’s becoming a high-end Robson Street. For me, the best part of Alberni is undoubtedly Blubird. The first time I walked past their windows I fell in love!

As I walk to work each day I can’t help but smile as I pass all the pretty clothes in the window. I think it’s the same as when a child walks past a pet store; except I’m talking about something completely different when I ask “how much are those puppies in the window?”

Blubird carries the very best in clothing, accessories, shoes and makeup from around the globe. Brands like Marc by Marc Jacobs, Alice + Olivia, Bloch, LNA, Rebecca Minkoff, Twenty8Twelve, Pour La Victoire, Elizabeth and James, House of Harlow and Ted Baker. If you’ve seen it in on a celebrity chances are Blubird carries it. I kind of lose touch with reality when I walk through those glass doors.

I once bought two pairs of Marc Jacobs’ shoes, one didn’t even fit properly! But it was the last pair left and they were just too pretty not to own. I always say it’s about fashion not function, I wear shoes that don’t’ fit because they make my feet look pretty! For more info on Blubird visit www.blubird.ca or just stop by the store at 1055 Alberni Street.

Broadway. A street littered with stylish coffee bars, known for trendy shops, elegant boutiques and tasteful restaurants. It is here that you can find ‘Green Goddess Fashion Consignment’, a hidden gem amongst the hustle and bustle. Only open for 4 months the consignment store is making a name for itself as a location focused on beauty both in the sense of surface beauty and that found within.

When visiting ‘Green Goddess Fashion Consignment’ I had expected just another vintage store, soon to become part of the blur of all the shops I have visited lately. But instead ‘Green Goddess Fashion Consignment’ left a lasting impression. Carol puts a large amount of effort into forming personal relationships with her clients, creating a comfortable and personal atmosphere, as she helps them find pieces that suit their style, budget and body shape. ‘Dressing is supposed to make you feel good’ was something she said to me, that really hit the nail on the head in terms of her aim to her clients.

Something that sets her store apart is her programs focussing on self esteem, how to dress for your body type and other areas of interest to aspiring fashionistas or for those in search of guidance.  As well as this I was also interested in the e-mailing program she offers. You sign up your e-mail address, state the top three items you most interested in (this may be brand, style, size, etc) and Carol will e-mail you as soon as anything new matching this description arrives!

‘Green Goddess Fashion Consignment’ is open seven days a week, with a price range from 25-75% of the normal retail price dependant on condition, brand and size. There is a large stock base, with movement towards an eclectic style of middle-eastern silks, Vancouver designers, and higher end brands. It’s a place to go when in search of seasoned fashion statements or even just some friendly conversation.

You find and contact ‘Green Goddess Fashion Consignment’ at:
3117 West Broadway, Vancouver
